Community Center

“The founders of Welcome House and West Haven, the Steudel Family, had envisioned that persons with DD could live in group homes or family style homes that replicated as close as possible the kind of living that they were used to growing up.”

Community Center Program

Welcome House operates a day program in Westlake, Ohio which serves individuals with developmental disabilities who do not have employment or due to aging or health concerns are no longer able to participate in workshops or vocational training. Participants benefit from social interaction and engaging activities developed to meet each individual’s needs and interests.

Clients at the Community Center participate in a variety of activities, from art projects to ping pong, community outings, sensory stimulation, exercise programs, and even watching movies! Participants also receive a variety of therapies at the Community Center.
