“Group homes and family style group homes were the goal that the founders of this organization and our current goal should be to help persons with IDD live that full and rewarding life that we all want to have.”

Clyde

Everyone in the Welcome House family knows Clyde!  Clyde, who has been with Welcome House for 14 years, loves spending time with family and friends, and can often be found updating his Facebook page!  Clyde has cerebral palsy, and although he is confined to a wheel chair, leads a very active life.  He works part time at Cadillac Music, and enjoys listening to music, playing video games, and watching concerts, football and wrestling.  His central location in Lakewood at the Welcome House’s apartment building allows him easy access to downtown and the nightlife he loves.  Clyde lives with a roommate and receives supported living services from Welcome House.  During his Welcome House tenure he has had various roommates and living situations, but loves the staff and friends at the Bunts Road Apartments.
