Winter Wonderland Neighborhood Delighted Holiday Visitors at Tower City Center
Downtown Cleveland’s Newest “Residential Development”
was Made Entirely of Gingerbread
ROCKY RIVER, OH–A magical new Cleveland holiday tradition took shape in ovens all over town.
From Wednesday, November 26, through Wednesday, December 24, 2008, Gingerbread Lane, a Benefit for Welcome House Inc. at Tower City Center featured more than a dozen stunningly decorated gingerbread houses. The event was held on the second floor above the grand staircase in Tower City.
Prepared by some of the finest “flour arrangers” in the city –– the Gingerbread Lane creations were a feast for the senses, with brilliant lighting effects, moving parts and, of course, the heavenly aroma that reminds us all of holidays past.
“We were very pleased to inaugurate what we believed will be a new holiday tradition for Cleveland,” said Tony Thomas, executive director of Welcome House. “And while visitors to Tower City enjoyed the sights, sounds and aromas of the Gingerbread Lane houses, they were reminded of the warm and welcoming atmosphere maintained in the family-style group homes and in-home assistance programs operated to help our clients with IDD to lead rich and rewarding lives.”
