West Haven Foundation

Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) deserve a supportive community where they are able to develop independence and a sense of competence through successful experiences in both their home and community.

Mission Statement

West Haven, based on its founding principles of love, concern and understanding, exists to exercise stewardship of the Foundation's resources, ensuring their long-term viability to support the Mission of Welcome House and for the benefit of the IDD community.

Vision Statement

Each person with IDD deserves a full and rewarding life, therefore West Haven will support Welcome House and the IDD community in their efforts to enhance and expand person-centered programs.

A Caring Community

Since 1972, West Haven Foundation has fostered just this kind of caring community for the clients we serve. In 1996, West Haven's commitment to these individuals broadened with the creation of Welcome House. Together, these organizations are dedicated to helping individuals with IDD live full and rewarding lives by providing a variety of residential services in an atmosphere of a caring community.

West Haven will:

• Continue and expand the use and growth of the Foundation resources
• Encourage the IDD community and Welcome House, specifically, to focus on client's full life cycle needs
• Help broaden name recognition of West Haven and Welcome House
